  • I know how hard it can be to know who to trust, so let's review what qualifies me to serve you with excellence. I began a financial planning practice in 1990 in Central Iowa. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, I am a Fiduciary, which is a fancy word that means I am required to put my clients' best interests before those of my firm (it's unfathomable to me to think of operating any other way!).

    I hold the Series 7 and Series 63 licenses, as well as Insurance and Investment Advisory status in several states. My securities business is supervised by Securities America, Inc., and my Investment Advisory business is supervised by Arbor Point Advisors, LLC, Omaha, NE. I also have significant tax knowledge and adhere to ethical standards while staying current with tax laws and regulations.

    I believe education is vital to keeping up with investment trends and opportunities for my clients, so I regularly obtain more than double the continuing education requirements necessary to maintain my certifications.

    If you want to go way back, we can talk about my Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University. Since then, I maintain the following professional designations:

    • CFP® – CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ conferred by the CFP Board of Standards
    • ChFC® – Chartered Financial Consultant conferred by The American College
    • CDFA™ – Certified Divorce Financial Analyst conferred by the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts
    • BFA™ – Behavioral Financial Advisor conferred by Kaplan University
    • IRS ENROLLED AGENT – Enrolled Agent conferred by the Depart of the Treasury. Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards.

    Fun fact: I am also trained as a mediator, specializing in mediating financial issues in family law cases!
